Kone Elevators provides industry-leading elevators, escalators, autowalks and access solutions for easy building maintenance and modernization. 

Kone provides a mobile application to enable field technicians and dispatchers to manage jobs, report progress and obtain assistance through a variety of features. The app is based on Salesforce Service Cloud and incorporates the Snap-Ins SDK for Service Cloud. 


Kone team members were experiencing performance issues with Salesforce flows in the app. It would often take very long to run the main app flow because of lagging load times and displaying irrelevant screens. The app needed to be rebuilt.


React Native and JavaScript were used as the framework to build out the refreshed mobile apps which we developed in three parts. Two native iOS and Android modules managed the communication between the front-end and Salesforce back-end. 

The remaining module, developed in React Native, contained the frontend and retrieved information from the native modules. We used React Native to address issues with platform functionality. Development time was cut in half because it simultaneously works on Android and iOS. JavaScript was also used to replace some Salesforce flows to simplify and improve the functionality of the platform.


The main flow of the application now functions much faster which enabled Kone’s field technicians and dispatchers to serve their customers more efficiently.
